Help needed to maintain, improve school grounds

Volunteers are needed for a series of workdays planned at Timothy Christian School (TCS) this year.

Workdays will take place on the third Saturday of the month, except for December. Tasks include painting, yardwork and general maintenance and cleaning.

These events are an opportunity for parents and community members to bless the school and keep maintenance costs down, said Eric Brouwer, chair of the building committee.

“Monthly TCS workdays are a great opportunity to build and strengthen our TCS community,” he said. “We create new friendships and grow existing relationships as we work together to maintain and improve our building and school yard.”

“The work that we do is a very practical way to serve in God’s kingdom at TCS and has immediate impact on our students and staff.”

The service opportunities are a way for parents to gain volunteer hours, and older children are welcome to join in, said Brouwer.

“The work that we do is a very practical way to serve in God's kingdom at TCS and has immediate impact on our students and staff.”

The first workday of the year is set for Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Please contact Jeremy Schouten by the Thursday before the workday to sign up. Parents will receive a reminder email in the school newsreel prior to each workday with a description of scheduled tasks.
