Timothy Christian School’s annual “Timothy Drive” got off to a successful start on Oct. 3, with the golf and dinner event raising $30,000 for the west-end Christian elementary school.

The event was held at Eagle’s Nest golf club in Maple, Ont., and concluded with a dinner event in the Nest where board chair Jacob Speelman provided an update on the school.

A request for financial support resulted in $30,000 being collected, more than doubling last year’s totals.

“We are truly thankful for the support received through our golf tournament,” said event organizer Asher Roffel.

Jeremy Schouten and Arja Speelman took home prizes for winning the longest drive awards, while Tony Speelman took home closest-to-the-pin honours, courtesy of donations by Eagle’s Nest, Post Time Services and Toronto Zenith.

Proceeds from the Timothy Drive go towards operating the North Etobicoke elementary school.

Located at 28 Elmhurst Drive, Timothy Christian School strives to educate and engage students for a life of service in Christ’s kingdom.
