COVID-19 update: TCS will open this fall
Following the Ontario government's announcement on July 30, the TCS board is thankful to announce that Timothy Christian School will reopen for full in-class instruction in September.
Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced guidelines for the safe reopening of schools this fall.
Elementary schools will reopen province-wide with in-class instruction five days a week.
"It's been hard on families to balance work and child care, while kids have been separated from friends and other kids their own age," said Ford. "We want to get our kids back to school, but it has to be done safely."
The TCS board has been preparing for in-school instruction in September and is thankful for the government’s news.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school," said incoming principal Jocelyn Paas. "We will continue to get ready for reopening, following government guidelines on health and safety."
In June, a TCS pandemic advisory committee was formed, including staff, board members and members of the TCS community.
The team has planned for a safe September opening with students in school five days per week, while also being prepared for a move to remote learning if this is mandated by the government because of a change in the public health situation.
The board is planning to unveil full details at a Town Hall meeting in August. Please stay tuned for further details on this event.
